They say that luck = opportunity + preparation. By that same logic, luck – preparation = opportunity. And the corollary is that luck minus opportunity = preparation. There’s a very real chance that if luck is 100, then opportunity is 99, and preparation only has a value of one. That means that opportunity is vastly closer to luck than preparation is, and preparation could have hardly anything to do with luck, really.
In that scenario, luck and opportunity are basically the same thing. So it’s possible that when considering luck, preparation only plays an insignificant role. And if luck minus opportunity truly DOES equal preparation, then the best thing you can do for yourself right now is get lucky without an opportunity.
